Hi, my name Dr. Emmiliany Ortiz! I was born in Levittown, Puerto Rico and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. I am bilingual and love my Puerto Rican heritage–especially our food. I graduated with honors with my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and minor in Chemistry from the University of North Texas. During my time in undergraduate, I worked in animal research, conservation labs, and volunteered at a veterinary hospital as a kennel tech. After undergraduate I worked as a veterinary technician at a busy hospital before moving to Glendale, Arizona for vet school where I graduated from Midwestern University with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. I have a special interest in integrative medicine, preventative medicine, and surgery. My love of science backed integrative medicine led me to become a Certified Medical Veterinary Acupuncturist through CuraCore Academy. My critter family currently includes 2 yorkies (Misty and Mimi), and a chihuahua (Princesa) who live back home in Texas; and with me here in AZ I have my black cat (Yuuji). Outside of veterinary medicine I was a dancer for 24 years and taught high school drill team for 5 years. During my downtime I love crafting, crocheting, and relaxing at home with my Fiancé, Brady.
